Privacy Policy
Last updated August 2026
Solo Show gives artists their own website for showing and selling their work. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and what your choices are — for artists with accounts and for buyers purchasing from an artist's site. We've tried to write it the way we'd want to read it.
What we collect from artists
- Account details: your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Your site's content: the artwork images, titles, prices, biography, and page text you choose to publish.
- Billing details: your subscription is processed by Stripe. We store your plan and subscription status, and a Stripe customer reference — never your card number.
- Payment account connection: if you sell, you connect your own Stripe account. Onboarding (identity, bank details, tax information) happens directly with Stripe; that information never touches our systems.
What we collect from buyers
- When you buy from an artist's site, payment is processed by Stripe on the artist's own Stripe account. We record the order — what was bought, your name, email address, and shipping address — so the artist can fulfill it and you can view your receipt.
- Your card details go to Stripe only; we never see or store them.
- A small cookie holds your cart while you browse an artist's site. Artists' sites carry no advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across sites.
How information is used
To run the service: showing artists' sites to visitors, processing orders, sending transactional email (order receipts, sale notifications, account emails like password resets), and billing subscriptions. That's the list. We do not sell personal information or rent it.
Analytics on our own pages
On Solo Show's own marketing and signup pages — not on any artist's site — we use two measurement tools. Vercel Web Analytics gives us anonymous, cookieless page-view counts. The Meta (Facebook) Pixel helps us understand whether our own advertising works: it sets cookies and shares your visit with Meta, which may connect it to your Facebook or Instagram account under Meta's privacy policy. Artists' storefronts never include either — a buyer browsing or purchasing from an artist's site is not tracked by us or by Meta.
Who processes data on our behalf
- Supabase — database and authentication hosting
- Stripe — payments, subscriptions, and payout accounts
- Vercel — website hosting and image delivery
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Meta — advertising measurement, on our own marketing pages only
Each processes data only to provide their service to us, under their own privacy commitments.
The artist–buyer relationship
When you buy from an artist, the artist receives your name, email, and shipping address to fulfill your order. The sale is between you and the artist; how they handle your information beyond fulfilling the order is their responsibility.
Retention and deletion
Artist content stays as long as the account exists — including during a lapsed subscription, deliberately, so nothing is lost. Order records are kept for the artist's bookkeeping and legal obligations. To delete your account and its data, contact us at the address below and we'll take care of it; some records (such as completed order and tax records) may be retained where the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for corrections, or ask for deletion, subject to legal retention requirements. Write to us and we'll respond promptly.
